Warning long post...and not too many pictures due to slow down loading. I hope to get the pictures down loaded later on tonight. check back later.
Life is busy yet not at the same time. I feel like I have nothing that I want to do but so much that I have to do. I don't know if that makes sense but for example I want to scrapbook but I need to do laundry, make dinner and clean the house.
Most of my days consist of breast feeding. Carly is eating about every 2 to 3 hours and then she seems to eat every hour from 10 to midnight. She then sleeps for 4 hours, then she wakes up around 4:30 or 5am eats and then want to be awake until 7 or 8 am. Then we both go to bed but until Josie wakes up usually around 10 or 9:30 AM. Josie doesn't go to bed until 10 or 9:30pm...thank heavens she sleeps in. It seems by the time I feel good enough to get out of bed and get going for the day the day is half way gone and I'm just starting my day. I feel like I'm always doing catch up. I guess every mom with a newborn feels like this, right? I just wish I had more time to myself....well enough of the complaining.
Carly's 2 months stats
Weight 11 lbs 5 oz 75%
Height 23 in 99%
She is doing great, it was so sad to give her shots today. She was such a happy fun baby all morning and she had no idea that it was coming. She had to get 3 shots. She's been a very sleepy baby today and has had no fevers so that's good. I think she's had some pain in her legs because she cry's like she's in pain. All in all she's perfect little 2 month old.
JOURNALING PURPOSES
Josie is growing up so fast and learning so much each day. She's been using her imagination more and more. She loves to sing but its not a song that you'd know, she makes up all her songs. She knows her colors very well and some numbers but I can't get her interested in the ABC's. But for some reason she loves the letter W and can spot that letter anywhere. Any ideas how to make letters fun for a 3 year old? She can talk OK...she is pretty good at miming everything. She'll usually say I'll show you and then explains what happens with actions. She understands so much, When Elliot was talking about the fire we had she could tell you the whole story with actions and some words. She loves when I do her hair now, its so much fun now that she'll let me actually do it. She loves bed time because we read stories and sing songs. She loves playing with our next door neighbors and I love that she has some kids her own age to play with. Too bad that they might be moving soon. She loves talking on the phone to all her cousins and grandparents. She loves
Scooby Doo and I just don't know why.
We took family pictures this past month at the state capitol building and I think they turned out great. The girls were so good through the whole thing. Here are some of my favorites.
We blessed Carly last Sunday and it was such a beautiful blessing the spirit was so strong that day. One thing that stuck out to me was when Elliot said that she would be a mother...that just melted my heart. What a privilege it is to be a mother. After sacrament meeting we went to my mom's for a lunch/dinner thing. It was great spending time with family and eating wonderful food. Thanks again everyone for coming and for bring something to share with the rest of us. It was a very long but wonderful day.
Let me tell you a scary story we had a fire in our house the night of Carly's blessing. When Elliot turned off the living room lamp (that we borrowed from Steph and Drew because I'm too cheap to by my own standing lamp, little did I know that lamp was going to cost us 60 dollars for an electrician and 75 dollars to replace the carpet.) for the night the breaker turned off all the lights in the room and so Elliot went down stairs to switch the breaker back on and he heard crackling noises upstairs. He ran upstairs and saw 12 inch flames. He ran to the kitchen and got a cup of water and luckily he threw it right in the right place. He then patted it out with his hands and feet. He kept yelling FIRE, FIRE!!!! All of us girls were upstairs asleep. We had taken our fire alarm down to replace the battery and hadn't replaced it yet. We didn't hear anything...after Elliot got the fire out he came upstairs and said why didn't you hear me?? Our whole house was filled with black smoke and stunk so bad. We had an electrician come to see if we had faulty wiring but it was the lamp. Elliot was pretty shaken up. Our couch was so close to the flames and our drapes but they didn't catch on fire. It was a miracle that the rest of the house didn't catch on fire. This scare really put things in perspective. We really need to be more prepared. We put up our fire alarms, bought a fire extinguisher and now we need some rope ladders for our up stair bedrooms. The fire was so close to the front door there wouldn't have been a way out for all of us that were up stairs. We are just so grateful that heavenly father was watching over us that night.

I'm glad everything is ok after the fire. That is so scary.
I don't know how things work in the school district that you are in, but down where we live you can get free preschool if your child meets certain requirements. Josie's speech delays might qualify her. I know a ton of kids in my ward that have done it, and it's amazing the difference now. It might be something to check into for next school year. And hey, you can't beat free.
Hey Melanie. Holly told me about the fire and I'm glad you're all ok. I'm glad I got Holly to keep me in the know with everyone :)
Your family pictures are SO CUTE! I love them. They look so natural and classy.
With Josie you could make alphabet cookies or jell-o jigglers and sing the song and spell things etc. It might make it interesting, I don't know, but it would be fun to try!
Your family pictures turned out so cute! But that's easy with two adorable girls!
wow--that is so scary about the fire! i'm glad it didn't get any worse!
your two girls sound like they are just so cute! carly is pretty tall, isn't she? 99th percentile-- way to go, carly :) after reading your post i'm getting a little nervous to have two kids! :) i'm glad you guys seem to be doing well!
and i LOVE you family pics! so cute! who took them?
yep definitely glad you guys are ok with that fire. I think that's a good lesson for everyone to make sure their house is fire safety proof.
