On Saturday we went to Sugarhouse park and did a 5k (3 and 1/2 miles I think). It was a vision walk for Elliot's little cousin Cameron. He has a genetic disorder that has left him almost all the way blind. He can see up close with a magnify glass and his peripheral vision is still there. He's only 7 and has gone through a lot just this past year. The walk was to earn money for research for the genetic disorder. I think his team earned about 6,000 dollars. It was an amazing day. I've never been involved in a charity that was so close to a family member. Cameron's team was called Camerons Cougars so a BYU football player was able to come and he gave him his hat and team jacket signed. Cameron wore the jacket the whole walk, the jacket was as tall as he is. He also got a basketball and a football signed by the whole BYU teams.
I wasn't sure if I was going to even do the walk but I felt really good that day. I was thinking on rollerblading but I'm glad I just walked with the family and it was really fun. I'm pretty sore today... my joints hurt pretty bad but I think that's due to pregnancy. Anyone else had that problem???
The signed football and basketball.
The gang on the walk...Josie was good the whole time. She even got out and walked for a bit.
All the kids bouncing the bounce house....it was so cute Cameron would hold Josie's hand and lead her up the stairs of the slide and slide on down with her. They were little buddies. I love this picture.
Elliot's uncle Richard's family with Dan Vanswedien.
Dan Vanswedian giving Cameron the jacket and hat.
Ending the walk...we did finish. WOOHOO!!!

What an amazing thing to be a part of. The pregnant hormones in me made me cry through the whole blog on this, I'm still crying and Brayden's wondering what's wrong w me. I need to get myself together. What a special thing for the BYU players to come and do. What a fun day for Josie too.
