Sunday:
She was getting stubborn one day and I got mad that she peed in her pull-up. That was the last time that she's peed in her pull-up. She's been dry after every nap and when she wake up in the morning. She finally pooped in the potty last night. She was so happy. So were we. I think she's pretty much trained. She's been telling us that she needs to go without us asking her. I hope I'm not jinxing myself.
Monday:
Only 2 mild pee accidents and she told me right when she was doing it. So we would always run to the toilet and she'd finish her business in there. She's pooed in the potty.... But now she has diarrhea . Sorry to be so graffic. But at least she's going in the potty. I guess I am pretty lucky. Everything else seemed to be pretty hard up to this point. I think I finally got the hang of being a parent. After almost 2 years of being a mom.
I keep telling myself I want three things to happen before we have another baby...
1. Potty train Josie
2. Get rid of the Binky
3. Make her sleep in her own bed
Now that potty training is off the list its time to work on the other two. I think Josie will sleep with us until she's 8 . But I will keep trying to make her go back in her own bed. Josie just never has been a good sleeper. That's one thing I've learned as a mom. You really have to train your kids to be a good sleeper. My sister Stephanie did such a good job with her second kid. She told me that was the greatest gift she could give her. To let her little girl find a way to fall a sleep by herself. I totally agree with her. I just can't let her cry it out or she pukes. So my only choice is to lay by her until she falls asleep. So wish me luck. I hope it works. As I am typing this Josie just fell asleep on my chest. She loves this place to sleep since she was born.
Conference weekend was nice and relaxing. We were able to have one of Elliot's old missionary companions come over for dinner on Sunday and watch the last session of conference. It was fun to get to know one of Elliot's companion and listen to all there stories. Josie was so cute every time the choir would sing she goes, "DA, DA DA." like "La la la" and she wanted me and Elliot to join in on the singing.
Also this weekend I was able to catch up on all of this summers scrap booking. I think I did about 15 pages of pictures in three days. I'm almost all the way caught up. WOOHOO!!!
Next week my mom is going into get a major surgery done on her neck. I don't remember the exact name of the surgery but its when a nerve is getting pinched off and she looses feeling in her arm. She's very nervous about it. I'm asking all family or even friends to keep my mom in your prayers this week and especially on Tuesday the 14Th. Mom, I know that everything is going to be just fine. You have so much genealogy to do and lots more grand kids to spoil. We love you very much.
Hope everyone had a wonderful week and hope this one will be even better.

Josie is a potty training genius!
If you're looking for sleeping tips, supernanny has a great method that worked with Park. We just picked him up and put him back in his bed over and over and over until he fell asleep. Good luck!
Wow, Melanie I'm proud of you! Keep caught up on the scrapbooking because soon you'll have four kids and be way behind like me!
just a few things ..
okay so i just loved your blog post today. i don't know why but i found it very uplifting. maybe because you are awesome and seeing the amazing things josie is accomplishing and not dwelling on the things she still has to overcome. anyways that is great she is potty trained. i wish kaleb was.... lol.
second...where does you mom live?? ? i hope everything goes well for her. at least we live in a world with such great doctors and technology.
third.. i thought it was funny when you said after 2 years you think you got this parenting thing down. i have days when i think i am getting a hang of it.... then kaleb goes and proves me all wrong. little squirt.
fourth... i can't believe josie still falls asleep in your arms... soooo sweet. kaleb hates cuddling up against me... i miss his new born days *sigh*.
Yes, ditto to all the other comments. It was a great blog, thank you for mentioning me, it meant a lot. Brooklyn still tries to get into our bed at night (she's almost five) and last night we had a breakthrough. She came into snuggle and then she said, I am going back to my bed. All by herself. Miracle of miracles! She's growing up.
you are a superwoman! way to go with potty training and scrapbooking! good luck with the binki/bedtime stuff--you'll do great...look at what an amazing mom you've been so far!
i hope things go well for your mom--surgery is scary but she's tough! we'll be praying for her :)
