For those of you we haven't seen in a while

I met Melanie at a New Year's Eve dance at the Southtown Expo Center. I hate to dance, but was looking for a girl to kiss. I found Melanie, and asked her to dance. I asked her if she'd had her New Year's Eve kiss, and she became very nervous and replied "uh....no?!?" I gave her a kiss on the cheek. She said "awwww"(in a cute way) and then we kept dancing and talking. I don't know what got into me. I am normally really shy with girls. While talking, we learned that we were both students at Snow College, and I even knew her roommates. I arranged to see her, and 4 months later we were engaged. (I know I left a lot of details out)

After our engagement, I left to Chicago to sell home security systems. It was a horrible summer. We missed eachother really bad, and I hated my job. I came home when the sales gig was over, and we were married Sept 25, 2004, I think. (sorry Melanie, I can't remember years for some reason). We were married in the Bountiful Temple, honeymooned in Park City, and went back to school at Snow College. We both worked on the intramural sports staff. We then moved to Parowan, and then Cedar City, so that Melanie could go to the beauty school she wanted and so that we could live near Drew and Steph. I worked at Cedar Breaks Lodge, and went to school. I quit my job, and went to work as a part time substance abuse counselor. I loved that job. We decided to move closer to family, especially because Melanie was pregnant. We moved to a ghetto duplex right across the street from Liberty Park. We managed a group of duplexes in exchange for rent, and I worked as a mental health worker for troubled teens.

Melanie gave birth to Josie on Jan 3, 2007, I think, and it has been a blur ever since then. I got a job at Fidelity Investments, passed all of my licensing exams, and have since been promoted to Premium, where I basically place stock trades, among many other less exciting things for our high net worth clients. I really like my job. I'm still going to school at the U of U also. Melanie tends Josie, and manages the apts where we now live, which is about 15 minutes south of Salt Lake City. She is also finishing up her Associate's degree at SLCC . I am learning how to play golf and tennis, and play in a men's indoor soccer league. Melanie cuts hair for friends and family, and works in the nursery at church. I still play the cello, but haven't played in public for a while.

Yeah, sure, Melanie meets the man of her dreams that night and I was stuck dancing with some gangly scruffy faced mute. Melanie had all the luck that night, but it was fun going to the dance with you that night. I always wished we sisters could have done more double dates but that's ok we'll do it with our husbands now huh?
